ICT Club

E-mail Print PDF

The idea to establish the club came up in 2010 by then first years in Bsc. IT and Bsc. CT class as the college had been upgraded to a public university and the was an urgent need for a well established club to cater for the needs of students under the faculty of Information Technology, but due to unavoidable circumstances it's formation was postponed.

In 2011 the club officials approached the dean faculty of Information Science and Technology Mr. John Walubengo who full heartedly offered all the necessary assistance to the establishment of the club.

Due to the increasing number of student under the faculty of IST the club now in-cooperates students in Bsc. In Information Technology, Computer Technology , Computer Science and Mathematics and Computer Science to come up and share ideas through projects, tutorials and events that will help improve students skills outside the lecture rooms.

The club is currently under co-ordination of 12 dedicated officials led by the chairperson Silas Ayieko, The Secretary General Robert Ouko,  Director of Academic Affairs Kelvin Kariuki among others.

The club is generally built on academic foundation keen to uplift each member and aid in acheaving individual goals as well as group integration that will result in a solid and formidable force to face the market confidently and without fear.

As an academic conscious club the club holds extra classes and labs where members gets an extra opportunity to implement whatever they learn in class and also explore new ideas on their own based on the current technology. The club also conduct forums where brainstorming and pace setting are given priority and this includes the entire university to perticipate

Dear Hurt@gmail,

As Dean Faculty of CIT I take your complaint very seriously and am suprised you have not come to my office to clear this matter over the last 3yrs!

From your story, I gather you are NOT taking the JKUAT courses because in JKUAT courses, exams are publicly released simultaneously for every students. Perhaps you are taking the NCC program where results are released through the cordinator but I have access to the same.

Simply pass my office first thing in the morning and we sort this out.

J. Walubengo
Dean, CIT.

Is it true that this is the university with the highest Number of people getting supplementary (refers) examinations and discontinuing of comrades interns of academic grounds, I wonder how it can become an ICT center of excellence with such injustices to students! I overheard this in a matatu on my way to nairobi!
