Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics

The Bachelor of Science degree in mechatronics is a five-year degree program that aims at equipping students with the principles of contemporary manufacturing engineering which combines mechanics, electronics, and computing to realize simpler, more economical, reliable and versatile systems.

The growing application of mechatronics has resulted in the development and design of mechatronics or smart products including efficient washing machine, automated robotic assembly lines, digital cameras, laser printers, photocopiers, stair-climbing wheelchairs and hybrid automobiles.

The University through the office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research, Production and Extension) is organizing for students’ mini-exhibition. We are therefore requesting all the students to participate in this value adding exercise. The mini-exhibition is intended to promote innovation oriented culture; develop critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, self confidence, and intellectual independence.

Career Opportunities
Requirements

Graduates of mechatronics engineering program can work in many industries, including automobile, manufacturing, gas and oil, mining, transport, defense, robotics, aerospace and aviation.

In addition, they have a wide variety of multi-disciplinary skills that will allow them to take traditional engineering positions.

KCSE Mean grade B- (minus) and mean grade for the total score in the four JAB cluster subjects of at lest B (plain) and the following minimum grades in the individual luster subjects:

Mathematics C+
Physics C+
Chemistry C+
Geography or Biology, or group III or any group IV.
