Greening environment as varsity plants over 300 seedlings.

Multimedia University of Kenya’s staff and students converged at the institution’s Nature Park to plant over 300 seedlings as part of the varsity’s annual environmental greening exercise.

The event, themed “Improving the Forest Cover for a Smart Future” took place on the 9th December 2015 led by the University Council members.

In a show of commitment to environmental conservation, the Council members began the noble exercise by planting seedlings of their choice before being joined by staff and students to make the event a success.

This came in the wake of the COP21 Climate Change Conference taking place in Paris where leaders are calling for greater measures to protect the earth against the rapidly worsening climatic conditions.

Over the past several years, MMU has held the official event at the Main Campus and this year marked the 4th Annual Tree Planting Day.

The event is organized by Research and Innovation Department and all staff and students are encouraged to embrace the greening exercise.
