MMU records impressive performance at 2018 Trade Fair

Multimedia University of Kenya posted an impressive performance at this year’s Nairobi International Trade Fair (NITF) that was held.

The university scooped second best stand in Media Services and number three in the best university stand. The institution’s continuous impressive performance in Media Services is supported by a thriving media and communication environment with state of the art media studios for hands on training.

Speaking during the official opening day on October 4, 2018, President Uhuru Kenyatta commended the different organizations participating at the trade fair saying that the platform has provided Kenyans with the opportunity to show their potential by sharing their experiences and knowledge on modern technologies and establish business linkages.

Speaking to students while touring the MMU stand, the university Chairman of Council Prof. Johnstone Kiamba together with QS. Kibasui Ndonga and Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Finance and Planning Prof. Rosebella Maranga, congratulated the students and staff for impressive display of innovations and excellent performance.

Among the various innovations on display is Electracka Security System - an online system that provides an efficient and easy way for institutions to instantly and accurately verify the ownership of electronic devices at their exit points thereby stopping their theft before it happens, 3D printer which converts soft copy models into 3D using plastics and creative ATM animation that provides audition instructions in vernacular language to users, among others

The Trade Fair, themed ‘Promoting Innovation and Technology in Agriculture and Trade,’ offers the university with an opportunity to share with the public some of its innovations and research outputs.
