Master’s Degree
Applicants must have:
- A bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class Honours, Upper Division (or a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 on a scale of 4.00) in a relevant field from MMU or an institution recognised by the University Senate.
Alternative pathway for Second Class Honours, Lower Division holders:
- A Bachelor’s degree with Second Class Honours, Lower Division (or cumulative GPA of at least 2.50 on a scale of 4.00) with evidence of at least two years of relevant working experience, or evidence of relevant research and peer-reviewed publications and a Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant field from MMU or a recognised institution.
Doctoral Degree (PhD)
- A master’s degree from MMU or an equivalent qualification from an institution recognised by the University Senate, and demonstration of capacity to carry out original research.

- Scanned National ID (Kenyan applicants) or Passport (Non-Kenyan applicants)
- Academic certificates (Masters (for PhD applications), Postgraduate Diploma (where applicable), Undergraduate Degree, High School and Primary School certificates)
- Official transcripts (postgraduate, undergraduate and master’s degrees)
- Employer’s letter or reference to confirm work experience (for Second Class, Lower Division holders)
Additional Requirements for International Applicants
- Proof of English proficiency (for applicants from non-English speaking countries)
- Translated documents into English
Evidence of accreditation, equivalence, and recognition status for all academic certificates/transcripts from foreign universities or schools
Admissions for postgraduate programmes are open throughout the year for January, May and September intakes.
