MMU, KeNHA plant 500 indigenous trees to mark Mazingira Day

Multimedia University of Kenya, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Rosebella Maranga, together with Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), led by Nairobi Regional Director, Eng. Dominic Kirira, Equity Bank, and other stakeholders, to plant over 500 indigenous tree seedlings at the university to mark this year’s Mazingira Day.

During the exercise, Prof. Maranga thanked KeNHA, Equity Bank, and other stakeholders for partnering with MMU in commemorating the day, saying that the event was not just a mere tree planting exercise, but a reflections of the university’s commitment to ongoing environmental sustainability efforts.

On his part, Eng. Kirira reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to continued partnership with MMU in promoting environmental sustainability and development of safe, eco-friendly infrastructure.

Eng. Kirira also noted that the Authority will fast-track the ongoing construction of the walkway outside the university so that students can have a safe pathway to use when leaving or coming to the institution.

Also present were Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Research and Innovation Prof. Livingstone Ngoo, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Finance and Planning Prof. Geoffrey Kihara, Registrar, Administration Dr. Cornelius Mutangili, among others.
