Multimedia University (MMU) Board of Research and Innovation, paid a courtesy visit to National Research Fund (NRF) for a strategic partnership meeting.
The purpose of the meeting was to review the progress of existing MMU–NRF strategic partnerships, identify and deliberate on new avenues for collaborative research and innovation for the 2026/2027 Financial Year.
The Board, led by Chairperson Prof. Moses Odeo and Director, Research and Innovation Dr. David Wekesa, were received by NRF CEO Prof. Dickson Andala.

Prof. Odeo and Dr. Wekesa expressed their sincere appreciation to NRF for its continued partnership, highlighting the successful capacity-building workshop on resource mobilization and grant proposal writing.
They noted that the workshop’s positive impact directly contributed to MMU awarding Kshs 6 million to support 10 research projects under the 8th Call for Internal Research Grants for the 2025/2026 Financial Year.
Prof. Andala reaffirmed the NRF’s commitment to supporting MMU’s research initiatives noting that impactful research requires strategic resource mobilization, capacity building, effective proposal writing and strong project management skills.

The NRF CEO further encouraged the university to utilize grant funds responsibly and nurture a strong research culture within the institution by involving both postgraduate and undergraduate students.
Other Board members present were Dr. Gladys Nyachieo, Dr. Barbra Nthoki, Dr. Mary Kiveu, Dr. Bonface Ngari, Dr. Job Bonyo, Mr. Shadrack Kirunga among others.
