
Dr. Marucha is currently a Lecturer at the National Institute for Optics and Lasers, Multimedia University of Kenya. With over 17 years of experience in academia and research, he is a dedicated professional specializing in Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics, with a strong focus on theoretical and computational approaches to atomic collisions and scattering.
As an accomplished researcher, Dr. Marucha has published multiple peer-reviewed articles in reputable journals and serves as a trusted reviewer for the Institute of Physics. His research has received support from prestigious grants, including awards from the Kenyan National Research Fund and the African Development Bank.
In addition to his research contributions, Dr. Marucha has played a key role in academic leadership, curriculum development, and community engagement. He was instrumental in piloting the Community Service Learning program under Kenya’s new Competency-Based Curriculum, demonstrating his commitment to educational innovation and societal impact.
He is passionate about fostering collaborative research environments, mentoring emerging scholars, and advancing optics and photonics education in Kenya and beyond.
