Professional Bio:
Dr. Alex Magembe Marucha is a Kenyan physicist, academic, and researcher specializing in atomic collisions, molecular and optical physics. He currently serves as the Acting Director of the National Institute for Optics and Lasers (NIOL) at the Multimedia University of Kenya, where he is also a lecturer involved in teaching and research in photonics and related fields.
Dr. Marucha plays a key leadership role in advancing NIOL’s mission of promoting education, innovation, and research in optics and laser technologies. Under his stewardship, the institute offers academic programs ranging from undergraduate to doctoral levels, with a strong emphasis on practical training and industry-relevant skills.
