
Mr. Anderson Waithaka Maina is a seasoned higher education administrator with over two decades of experience in Kenyan universities. He holds a Bachelor of Education (Arts) from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Education (Educational Psychology) from Kenyatta University.
He began his career in 2003 at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) as an Administrative Assistant in the admissions office, later serving at the Board of Postgraduate Studies where he helped set up key systems. He joined Multimedia University of Kenya (MMU) in 2011 as the pioneer Assistant Registrar in the Academic Division. Over the years, he has risen through the ranks to Deputy Registrar (Academic Affairs), currently serving at the Directorate of Postgraduate Studies, where he oversees daily operations and coordinates activities of the Directorate.
Mr. Maina has also acted as MMU’s Registrar, Research and Innovation (2017–2025) and established ISO procedures in the department. Beyond the university, he served as Chairman of Thuita Secondary School for 13 years (2011–2024), contributing significantly to the school’s growth and community engagement.
As a researcher, his interests are in: Educational Psychology, Academic Administration, Higher Education Management, and Research and Innovation Systems.
