Professional Bio:
Mr. Masaviru M. Warren is an accomplished economist, academic, and researcher with over fifteen years of experience in university teaching, academic leadership, and applied economic research. He served as Chairperson of the Department of Finance and Accounting at Multimedia University of Kenya from 2020 to 2025, where he currently provides academic leadership for the Bachelor of Science in Economics programme.
His teaching and research interests span Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Mathematical Economics, Econometrics, and International Economics. Mr. Masaviru has lectured at several leading Kenyan universities, including Strathmore University, Cooperative University, Masinde Muliro University, South Eastern Kenya University, and Karatina University, contributing significantly to the advancement of economics education and quantitative research training in Kenya.
He holds a Bachelor of Education in Economics & Business and a Master of Arts in Economics from Maseno and Moi Universities, respectively. His scholarly work has focused on public expenditure, entrepreneurship, economic growth, inequality, poverty, and firm performance in Kenya, with publications appearing in peer-reviewed journals.
Mr. Masaviru possesses strong expertise in econometric and statistical analysis, with advanced proficiency in R, STATA, E-Views, SAS, MICROFIT, and SPSS. He has also participated in specialized academic and professional training in trade empirics, mathematical finance, and open and distance learning.
Beyond academia, he is passionate about research, mentorship, community engagement, and the development of transformative economic policies that promote inclusive growth and sustainable development in Africa.
