Multimedia University of Kenya (MMU) Chairman of the Council, Dr. Albert Kochei, led the university’s Council and management on an inspection visit to the site where construction of the MMU Student Village Accommodation is already underway.
The project will provide 2,520 modern hostel units for students once completed, and is expected to significantly boost the university’s on-campus housing capacity.
The visit follows the Government of Kenya’s successful award of the construction tender to a contractor who has already commenced building works.

The project is being implemented through the State Department for Housing and Urban Development as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to expand affordable student accommodation in public universities.
Speaking during the inspection, Dr. Kochei commended the government for its support and reaffirmed the University Council’s commitment to improving both academic and residential facilities.

“The provision of these 2,520 hostel units will be a major boost to the university’s on-campus accommodation capacity. As the University Council, we remain committed to continuously enhancing learning and accommodation facilities because such development-based infrastructure is crucial to the success of our students and the university,” said Dr. Kochei.
